Vince Rizzo, warden of the town, you define a typical example of those who remained born and grew up in City Island if they have not moved away, leaving out the front door of the house not only the many possibilities of life elsewhere but even dreams of glory (Vince is in fact secretly fond of acting).
City Island, the name of the film, is the praise of the unsaid, the lie easy (and sometimes even useless), the lie every time. And
Raymond De Felitta directs a cast of crooks perfect: the pater familia Vince (aka Andy Garcia , excellent) that switches the work in prison with an evening course attended acting without the knowledge of his wife Joyce (Julianna Margulies ) - she knows that her husband played poker. Obviously, however, Joyce harbors the suspicion of treason.
And, for the transitive property, including the offspring of Rizzo not denied: Vince Jr., rebellious and lonely boy, held in great secrecy, an unhealthy passion for women over 100 kg. Vivian is maintained while the eldest studies working as a stripper. Needless to say it is a secret.
But, you know, the family secrets are bound to pop out if you have unstable equilibrium and, in the case of Rizzo, will be a "tenant" to disrupt the peace liar family: Tony Nardella, son never recognized by Vince. The latter, seeing him in prison and after completing all required inspections, he realizes that Tony is the result of an old love, to overcome the shortcomings of fugitive father, brings him back to freedom in our care - however, conceals be his father. City Island is an enjoyable film, funny and very true: there are the frustrations of a family in the balance between what is and what he would have liked to be, there is love castrated by the routine, there is even more so the desire to chance, "but to stay in themselves and that you change your fate, maybe add it hides.
